Ancient pedestrian street of the Tabernacles
(starting point 30 km away) Starting from Valperga, this beautiful one-hour hiking trek is also known as the Pilgrim Route. It ascends between steep and silent streets that lead to the medieval Church of San Giorgio and the Castle of the Counts of Valperga. It is recommended to go past the little church of Sant’Apollonia, which has an important necropolis dating back to the Iron Age, and continue to the Sanctuary.
The route is marked by the paintings of the Mysteries of the Rosary on 15 Pylons that were built between 1878 and 1880.
