Candia Lake Natural Park

In addition to the lake, the park hosts other wetlands of natural value: the Palude, swamps, are special protected areas with 400 species of plants and a remarkable avifauna which finds the environment suitable for a migratory stop. The Palude is located north of the water mirror and the Paludetta. Until the beginning of the 20^th Century, people lived mainly on fishing, yet another important activity linked to the wetlands was the production of wickers starting from the reeds that grew abundant. Today, the park has become a destination for birdwatchers, fishermen (pikes have recently been reintroduced) and rowers.
